Milan, 21 September 2026 – The leading listed companies of the Italian market are once again taking centre stage in the United States thanks to the new edition of the “Italian Equity Champions” conference, an initiative promoted by Intesa Sanpaolo's IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, led by Mauro Micillo, to foster dialogue between international investors and Italian companies with high growth potential.
Hosted in New York, one of the world’s leading financial hubs, the event brought together 15 listed Italian companies, which met with over 50 of the largest US institutional investors, representing 39 investment firms, for a total of around 150 meetings.
The initiative was attended by ACEA, Ariston, Azimut Holding, Banca Ifis, Brembo, CNH, De' Longhi, Eni, Maire, Officina Stellare, OVS, Piaggio, Reply, Sanlorenzo and Technogym, providing an important opportunity for direct discussion on the growth prospects of Italian groups with an international outlook and on the opportunities offered by the Italian market for American investors.
The conference confirms the role of the IMI CIB Division as a platform connecting the Italian business community with international financial markets, providing companies with specialist expertise, well-established relationships with the global financial community and a direct presence in the world's leading economic centres.
Nicola Doninelli, Head of Distribution Platforms & GTB of Intesa Sanpaolo's IMI CIB Division, emphasised: “In an environment characterised by change and new growth opportunities, fostering dialogue between companies and investors is essential to support sustainable development pathways and strengthen the competitiveness of Italian companies in global markets. Intesa Sanpaolo’s IMI CIB Division continues to play a strategic bridging role, fostering dialogue between companies and institutional investors and supporting Italy’s leading businesses in accessing global financial markets, starting with the United States.”
The initiative represents the natural evolution of the path embarked upon by the IMI CIB Division through the Italian Stock Market Opportunities conferences, which in recent years have involved numerous companies listed on the main European financial markets, confirming the Group's commitment to fostering dialogue between international capital and Italian business excellence.
Established presence in the United States
Italian Equity Champions is part of the broader strategy of the IMI CIB Division aimed at supporting the growth in size and international expansion of Italian companies, thanks to a well-structured foreign network and an established presence in the main global markets.
The Intesa Sanpaolo Group has a long-standing presence in the United States, and the New York Branch is one of the strategic hubs of the IMI CIB Division's International Network, supporting corporate and institutional clients in the Americas.
In recent years, the IMI CIB Division has also played a leading role in some of the most significant infrastructure and energy projects in the US market, including the Cider solar project in New York State, the financing of the Roccasecca battery energy storage system in Nevada, and the Big Muddy solar plant in Illinois.
With this initiative, Intesa Sanpaolo, led by CEO Carlo Messina, confirms its role as a strategic partner for the growth and access to capital markets of high-potential Italian companies, supporting them in their development and internationalisation processes.
