A framework agreement between Intesa Sanpaolo and the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (IPA Qatar) will expand the range of corporate and investment banking solutions available to local and international entities operating in Qatar, further strengthening the presence of the Bank in the region.

Main objectives of the agreement between Intesa Sanpaolo and IPA Qatar include:

  • offering a wider range of products and services to corporations and a growing numbers of government projects
  • sizing up Intesa Sanpaolo’s banking team in the country
  • nurturing local talent in the financial sector and increasing the active participation of Intesa Sanpaolo in the local ecosystem, through skills development programs.

The MoU was signed by Chief Executive Officer of IPA Qatar Sheikh Ali bin Alwaleed Al-Thani, and General Manager of Qatar Financial Center’s Intesa Sanpaolo Branch, Daniele Fanin.

The current agreement follows a Letter of Intent signed with the Qatar Foundation at the end of 2020 and dedicated to cooperation in the business innovation sector.

Intesa Sanpaolo has been the first Italian bank present in Qatar, with a Corporate branch operating in the Doha Qatar Financial Center since 2016.
