Intesa Sanpaolo and the Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage have signed a Declaration of Intent governing their partnership to promote the legality, development and protection of Italy's cultural heritage.

Illegal trafficking in cultural goods and attacks on museums point to the need for close cooperation between public and private entities–particularly those most concerned with safeguarding cultural heritage and promoting culture, such as Intesa Sanpaolo.

The partnership also includes initiatives to spread a culture of legality through temporary exhibitions of recovered cultural assets, which are thus returned to the community, raising public awareness of the need to protect Italy's historical heritage and identity.

Through its “Progetto Cultura”, Intesa Sanpaolo plays a leading role in protecting, promoting and developing Italy's cultural heritage: buildings, art collections and archives, inherited from banks that have become a part of the Group over the years, constitute a vast heritage that is protected and shared with the public on a daily basis.
