Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women: Intesa Sanpaolo goes orange

Intesa Sanpaolo is "turning on the lights" to stop violence against women and, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, lighting up its tower in Turin and Via Verdi headquarters in Milan orange in support of the campaign promoted by the UN and UN Women.

Intesa Sanpaolo has long paid specific attention to this issue through numerous initiatives, such as:

  • psychological support for its people with a counselling and first-stop information service
  • a specific policy for preventing harassment and spreading a culture of respect and inclusion
  • support for non-profit organisations working in this field: since 2019, the Charitable Fund, under the Bank's chairmanship, has supported 120 projects to fight gender-based violence, which is also among the primary lines of action for 2023-2024

Intesa Sanpaolo also signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Italian Minister for Family, Natality and Equal Opportunities and the Italian Banking Association (ABI) on the prevention and elimination of violence against women.

Intesa Sanpaolo's museums are also involved in raising awareness of the issue:

  • at the Naples museum, an initiative was dedicated to schools in Caivano and Scampia, in collaboration with the State Police, to encourage reflection on the gender gap as a factor contributing to violence against women
  • the Savings Museum in Turin promoted the event "When your loved one asks you for a receipt: economic violence, an underestimated phenomenon" on the importance of economic independence as a means of prevention and reintegration of women who have been victims of violence.

In addition, the Gallerie d'Italia provided free admission to all museum sites on 25 November: Milan, Turin, Naples and Vicenza.
