Wallet for contactless payments in stores "Huawei Pay" now available in Italy

Intesa Sanpaolo is the first bank in Italy and in Europe to make the contactless payment service Huawei Pay available to its customers. Thanks to the partnership with Huawei and Bancomat, holders of cards issued by Intesa Sanpaolo on the PagoBANCOMAT® network will now be able to use the their Huawei(*) smartphone wallet to make contactless payments in stores.

To start digitizing the cards in the wallet only requires holding the card close to the Huawei device, which will automatically read the data, guaranteeing convenience and security.

The contactless payment service Huawei Pay is in addition to those offered by the Intesa Sanpaolo Mobile app – named by Forrester Research "Overall Digital Experience Leader" among all the evaluated EMEA banking apps – and reaffirms the Bank's commitment in the digital area, one of the main areas of attention and development, as also envisaged in the new 2022-2025 Business Plan.

(*) The Huawei device must support NFC (near-field communication) technology
