Charitable Fund: focus on women, youth and the educational and digital divide
Intesa Sanpaolo's Charitable and Social and Cultural Works Fund, under the Chairmanship of the Bank, will have resources of €23.4 million to disburse to non-profits in 2024 (+15% compared to 2023), with a focus on three main areas of activity:
- support for women and minors who are victims of violence
- combating educational poverty and the digital divide
- support for NEETs (young people neither studying nor working) and ELETs (young people leaving school or training early)
as set out in the Fund's 2023-2024 two-year guidelines.

Absolute poverty has reached an all-time high in Italy: according to the latest ISTAT data, more than 2,234,000 families (8.5% of the total) are unable to pay for groceries, rent, utility bills and medical care.
As a concrete response to growing inequality, over the past five years Intesa Sanpaolo's Charitable and Social and Cultural Works Fund has disbursed €77.6 million in support of 3,855 projects. In 2023 alone, the Fund disbursed around €18.9 million with 912,000 direct beneficiaries through more than 700 non-profit organisations.
With 2,272 projects evaluated in 2023 (+11% vs. 2022), the Fund remains a key player in philanthropy in Italy.
