SwatchPAY! a new entry in digital payments

SwatchPAY! – a new contactless payment system – comes to Italy in partnership with Intesa Sanpaolo and Mastercard, supporting the cultural shift towards electronic payments.

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the transition from cash to digital payments, which are considered safer in hygiene terms.  

Intesa Sanpaolo clients will be the first in Italy able to make contactless payments using a Swatch watch.

SwatchPAY! contactless payments use an NFC chip (Near Field Communication) in the watchcase from the dedicated Swatch collection that allows it to be uniquely linked to an Intesa Sanpaolo payment card active on Mastercard network.
