Climate Report

Intesa Sanpaolo published its first TCFD Report in the fourth quarter of 2021, a document aimed at disclosing climate-related information in accordance with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

The recommendations are structured around four pillars: Governance, referring to the procedures and responsibilities assigned for the management of climate-related risks and opportunities; Strategy, outlining the company's approach to supporting the transition to a low-emission economy; Risk Management, referring to the integration of climate risk into the company’s risk management systems and processes; Metrics and Targets, aimed at defining the objectives to be pursued and monitoring the results achieved.

With the publication of the 2023 Status Report, the TCFD completed its mandate and was dissolved. As a result, the IFRS Foundation has taken over the responsibility of monitoring companies’ progress in climate-related disclosures.

The 2023 edition, renamed Climate Report, was once again published alongside the Consolidated Non-Financial Statement.

The 2024 edition was prepared in continuity with the previous one and is part of the Group’s sustainability reporting set.

The section “Target Setting on Lending Activities: Annual Reporting of Estimated Emissions”, included in the Metrics & Targets chapter, is subject to limited assurance by an independent third party.
