Against inequalities: our commitment to inclusion and social cohesion

Intesa Sanpaolo has long chosen to put itself at the service of the country, to help combat its growing poverty and inequality.

The development of projects shared with some of the best representatives of the Third Sector in Italy and the creation of collaborative networks between public, private and social private institutions allows the Group to respond to the real needs of the most marginalised sections of the population, through initiatives that, in addition to meeting the basic needs of people and families in difficulty, extend their action to the various areas of inclusion and social cohesion.

With a focus on the most vulnerable groups (women, children, the elderly, the working poor, the homeless, health care commuters, prisoners, young victims of addiction, children and families in difficulty), the Group's initiatives are designed to combat poverty and inequality in the country.

Areas of intervention

Combating material poverty

Interventions against the multiple forms of material poverty through an integrated system of actions that includes food support, the distribution of clothing, access to basic health care, combating energy poverty and financial inclusion tools.

Care and assistance

Support for people in times of greatest vulnerability, with interventions ranging from immediate assistance to populations affected by natural disasters to ongoing support for children and families in difficulty.

Health and healthcare

Promotion of the right to health to strengthen the quality and accessibility of health services such as hospital care, support for home care, and funding for medical and scientific research.

Solidarity networks and ecosystems

Coordination of a structured ecosystem of Foundations and Third Sector Organisations, with the aim of building collaborative networks capable of generating lasting positive effects for communities.

The Food and Shelter programme

The Food and Shelter programme is the social heart of Intesa Sanpaolo and has been confirmed in the 2026-2029 Business Plan. It represents a challenge, taken up and supported in partnership with non-profit organisations, public administrations and other companies, to carry out interventions with a high social impact and act as a multiplier of good practices. The goal is ambitious and is to help remove those unfavourable conditions that force men, women and children to live on the margins. These are responses to basic needs, interventions that have a single great value: to restore the dignity to which everyone is entitled.
