€50 million loan to the Rome Biomedical Campus

€50 million loan to the Rome Biomedical Campus

Intesa Sanpaolo has signed a €50 million loan agreement with Campus Bio-Medico SpA for the construction of new spaces and infrastructures for university teaching, training and scientific research at the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome.

The works that will be carried out will have characteristics of environmental sustainability and energy efficiency:

  • around €30 million will be dedicated to the construction of infrastructures that will lead to a significant improvement in the energy efficiency of the new spaces
  • around €20 million will be used to refinance a previous investment dedicated to the construction of the hospital and university complex which today constitutes one of the country's medical, scientific and academic centers of excellence.

This operation is part of the €6 billion earmarked that the Intesa Sanpaolo Group dedicated to the circular economy in the 2018-2021 Business Plan and which since its launch has financed around 200 projects.
