Intesa Sanpaolo's Insurance Division (Intesa Sanpaolo Vita, Intesa Sanpaolo Life, Fideuram Vita), in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, organised the programme "In action Esg Climate" to identify and award €500,000 to the three best projects in support of the ecological transition of companies, related, for instance, to the responsible use of natural resources, the reduction of CO2 emissions, the use of energy from renewable sources or the promotion of business models and solutions linked to the circular economy.

The initiative collected more than 80 proposals from SMEs and start-ups and the winners, who were awarded at the event "The ecological transition: a priority for all" held at the Gallerie d'Italia in Milan, are:

  • 1st prize of €250,000 to the start-up 9-tech, operating in the cleantech field, for its project to market a process for the disposal and reuse of spent photovoltaic panels, recovering high-value materials, including silicon, copper and silver, and reintroducing them into the various production chains
  • 2nd prize of €150,000 to Strategic BIM, which, in the ICT/real estate sector, focuses on reducing the energy consumption and operating costs of large buildings through 3D digital simulations of buildings and their systems
  • 3rd prize of €100,000 to plan by Latitudo 40 that will make the reading of indicative satellite data for urban sustainability more accessible, supporting environmental intervention decisions, particularly with respect to the amount of CO2 absorbed by a green area.

The Call-for-Ideas "In action ESG Climate", which promotes innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship, represents an initiative in line with the net-zero commitment of the Group and Intesa Sanpaolo Vita, which has recently joined the Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance (NZAOA) and the Net Zero Insurance Alliance (NZIA).
