The third edition of the executive course in Management of Artistic and Cultural Heritage and Corporate Collections, dedicated to professional managers of the artistic and cultural heritage of private individuals, non-profit institutions and companies interested in enhancing their skills, is now open for applications.

The main topics of the course include:

  • the framing of cultural management from a CSR perspective
  • the institutional and legal context in Italy and abroad
  • the public-private relationship and new forms of partnership
  • innovative heritage management practices
  • collection management in the private and corporate sector
  • the economic and accounting dimension of cultural goods and activities
  • strategies to enhance and expand the use of corporate and private assets
  • the NRRP
  • project management
  • the main trends in technological innovation and their impact on the cultural sector.

The initiative is being held by Intesa Sanpaolo with the support of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and Fondazione Cariplo, in collaboration with Fondazione 1563 per l'Arte e la Cultura and Digit'Ed, and was conceived with the scientific contribution of Fondazione Scuola dei beni e delle attività culturali, the international institute for training, research and advanced studies within the remit of the Ministry of Culture.

The course, under the organisational direction of Digit'Ed, is coordinated by Prof. Guido Guerzoni, lecturer at the Bocconi University of Milan. Lectures are given by academics from Italian universities, cultural and business managers, museum directors and officials, bearing witness to the value of the relationship between the public and private sectors as a fundamental lever of development and a qualifying element for policies for the protection, management and development of cultural heritage.

The course stems from the experience gained over the years with Progetto Cultura, the programme that since 2011 has been protecting, managing and enhancing Intesa Sanpaolo's collections of more than 35,000 works, the Gallerie d'Italia with its museums in Milan, Naples, Turin and Vicenza, the Group's Historical Archives and the Restituzioni project.

The Executive Course in Management of Artistic and Cultural Heritage and Corporate Collections will take place from 3 February to 27 May 2023 in physical presence at the Gallerie d'Italia in Milan and Turin. On the Digit'Ed website you can submit your application until 27 November and find full, detailed information.

Eight scholarships are also available from Fondazione 1563 per l’Arte e la Cultura and Fondazione Cariplo.

The first two editions of the course, held in 2021 and 2022 , met with extraordinary interest, yielding around 1,300 applications.
