Funding for largest cruise terminal in the U.S.

Intesa Sanpaolo and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) have provided a €350 million loan to MSC Group for the construction of one of the world's most important cruise terminals, including pier, office and parking facilities, in Miami's Biscayne Bay.
The financing will go to the MSC Crociere Group, which has commissioned Fincantieri Infrastructure to build a new infrastructure according to Green Building Rating Systems (GBRS) criteria, a rating system for the development of environmentally friendly construction with a high energy efficiency rate that limits environmental impact and reduces operating costs.
The new terminal will allow three MSC cruise ships to dock at the same time, handling up to 36,000 passengers a day.
The loan was guaranteed by SACE with a contribution from SIMEST to stabilise the rate and subsidise the interest rate.
