AED: opening ceremony
A defibrillator will be placed in the garden Grosa to protect citizens and, at the same time, spread the culture of first aid, also amongst the great number of children and families who attend the green area. On May 24 the defibrillator will be placed near the Chiccotosto cafeteria, on the side of Corso Vittorio Emanuele II.
Turin’s initiative is part of the project Torino Città Cardioprotetta (Turin cardio-protected city), which includes the installation of three defibrillators in public places of the city. The municipality will be represented by Enzo Lavolta and Marco Chessa of district no. 3, by Francesca Troise and Fabio Rastrelli from Intesa Sanpaolo.
The presence of a defibrillator is an important cultural signal and makes everyone safer: unfortunately, statistics remind us that every year in Italy 60,000 people have a cardiac arrest and the first 5 minutes are essential. The presence of a life-saving tool gives an additional value to the garden that Intesa Sanpaolo had already completely renovated during the construction of the skyscraper. The area, due to its location, night lighting and perfect maintenance, is a popular and appreciated destination for games, sports, walks and small outdoor parties.
In case of bad weather, the event will take place in the lobby of Intesa Sanpaolo skyscraper.
