After completion of the scheduled negotiation period, on 13^th June 2003 Banca Intesa and ABN AMRO signed the share purchase agreement related to the sale of 94.57% of the capital of Banco Sudameris Brasil owned by Gruppo Intesa to Banco ABN AMRO Real SA.

The transaction is expected to be finalised during the third quarter, after completing the scheduled due diligence period which will start in the next few days and after obtaining the relevant authorisations from the competent authorities.
