UBI Banca deal is Financecommunity’s 2020 “Deal of the Year”

The purchase and exchange offer on UBI Banca is the “Deal of the Year” according to Financecommunity, recognised as the most important banking M&A transaction of the year, giving rise to one of the largest banking groups in Europe.

The award was received by Paolo Maria Vittorio Grandi, Intesa Sanpaolo’s Chief Governance Officer and, since 15 October, Chairman of the Board of Directors of UBI Banca, together with Flavio Gianetti, Head of M&A and Group Equity Investments at Intesa Sanpaolo.

Intesa Sanpaolo’s IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division also received an award, “Team of the Year Energy & Infrastructure”, bestowed on the Energy & Industry Specialised Lending team for its business financing activities linked to environmental sustainability criteria.
