First bank in the Lombardy Region's protocol for sustainable development
Intesa Sanpaolo is the first Italian bank to join the Lombardy Region's protocol for sustainable development.
Supporting the transformation of companies towards environmental, social and governance (ESG) sustainability is important for enhancing their competitiveness, and the adoption of “circular” business models is a key factor for the growth of the Italian national and local economy.
The agreement between Intesa Sanpaolo and the Lombardy Region to promote the sustainable transition of companies is an example of public-private synergy that represents a model of intervention chosen and applied by Intesa Sanpaolo in various initiatives to support the Italian economy.
Nationwide, Intesa Sanpaolo has made available new credit for €88 billion for the green economy, circular economy and ecological transition, dedicated to both structured companies and SMEs.
