Advanced training course for cultural managers: fourth edition launched
The executive course in Management of Artistic and Cultural Heritage and Corporate Collections – a high-level training course that builds the skills of sector professionals – is now in its fourth edition.
The main subjects examined in the course include:
- framing cultural management from a CSR perspective
- the institutional legal context in Italy and abroad
- public-private relations and new forms of partnership
- innovative heritage management practices
- collection management in the private and corporate sector
- the economic and accounting aspects of cultural goods and activities
- strategies for enhancing and expanding the use of corporate and private assets
- project management
- major trends in technological innovation and spillovers to the cultural sector.
Who is the course for?
The executive course in Management of Artistic and Cultural Heritage and Corporate Collections is dedicated to professionals who manage the artistic and cultural heritage of individuals, non-profit institutions and companies.
It is intended for university graduates with at least two years' work experience, preferably in the management of museums, archives and the artistic heritage of companies and individuals, and seeks to develop their management and community relations skills.
How is the course conducted?
The course, held in Italian, will run from 9 February to 25 May 2024 in physical presence at the Gallerie d'Italia in Milan and Turin, with classroom lessons and webinars.
The course also includes project work and will be rounded out by didactic visits to art venues, cultural institutions, corporate collections and museums throughout Italy.
Lectures will be given by academics from Italian universities, cultural and business managers, and museum directors and officials, attesting to the close relationship between the public and private sectors as a fundamental avenue of development for policies for the protection, management and development of cultural heritage.
Who is promoting the course?
The course is being promoted by Intesa Sanpaolo with the support of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and Fondazione Cariplo, in collaboration with Fondazione 1563 per l'Arte e la Cultura and Digit'Ed, and was designed with the scientific contribution of Fondazione Scuola dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali, the international institute for training, research and advanced studies within the remit of the Italian Ministry of Culture.
The initiative is born of the experience gained over the years with Progetto Cultura, Intesa Sanpaolo's programme to protect, manage and exploit the Bank's art collections of more than 35,000 works, the Gallerie d'Italia with its museums in Milan, Naples, Turin and Vicenza, the Group's Historical Archives, and the Restituzioni project.
Fondazione 1563 per l'Arte e la Cultura and Fondazione Cariplo are offering eight scholarships.
