Agreement with Enel X for the development of Renewable Energy Communities

Intesa Sanpaolo and Enel X have signed an agreement aimed at:

• incentivising SME investments in energy from renewable sources
• promoting the energy autonomy of companies and the country, with the creation of Renewable Energy Communities

The collaboration with Enel X, an Enel company dedicated to developing innovative energy efficiency solutions, is aimed at guaranteeing Italian companies the technical and consultancy support of specialised partners to set up Renewable Energy Communities, taking advantage, in particular, of the more than 100,000 industrial roofs available to accommodate photovoltaic systems.

Renewable Energy Communities are virtuous projects for the self-production of electricity from green sources: groups of families, companies or third sector entities can choose to join together to self-produce and consume electricity from renewable sources.

The initiative is part of the "Motore Italia Transizione Energetica" programme, which has confirmed €76 billion in support for investments in renewable energy plants as part of the more than €410 billion that Intesa Sanpaolo has set aside to support the objectives of the NRRP missions through 2026.
