Intesa Sanpaolo among the most active companies in the ecological transition
Intesa Sanpaolo is the only Italian bank and the number-two in Europe in the Clean200 rankings, which analyse the major global listed companies that make sustainability the focus of their business.
Intesa Sanpaolo's 2022-2025 Business Plan includes a strong commitment to ESG, with a world-class positioning in terms of social impact and a strong focus on climate. The commitment to the environment, in particular, includes:
- allocating €115 billion to the community and green transition
- achieving net zero emissions by 2030 for its own emissions and by 2050 for those of its loan and investment portfolios, asset management and insurance business
- helping protect and restore natural capital by planting over 100 million trees and adopting a specific biodiversity policy.
The companies on the Clean200 list, which make sustainability the focus of their products, services, business models and investments, were selected from a pool of 6,720 companies based in 35 countries worldwide.
The Clean200 rankings are drawn up by As You Sow, a non-profit that promotes corporate sustainability through shareholder advocacy, and Corporate Knights, a Canadian sustainability magazine
