Risk Awards 2025: Intesa Sanpaolo is “Bank risk manager of the year"

Intesa Sanpaolo has been awarded "Bank risk manager of the year" at the Risk Awards 2025. The international magazine Risk.net particularly recognised the innovation in the risk management architecture and processes for the business of investment certificates issued by the bank.

The innovations introduced by the Risk Management Department not only made the certificate issuance process more efficient, but also helped the bank improve its risk valuation control framework and prepare for the upcoming introduction of the new Basel regulatory environment (FRTB - Fundamental Review of the Trading Book).

Intesa Sanpaolo is one of three banks in the European Union - and among the few in the world - that has committed to using internal models for FRTB.

The Risk Awards represent one of the most prestigious global awards for risk management.
