M&A: Intesa Sanpaolo in support of the new Italian cured meats pole

Intesa Sanpaolo, as exclusive Financial and M&A Advisor, advised the shareholders of Salumifici GranTerre S.p.A. and Parmacotto S.p.A. - respectively GranTerre S.p.A. and AZ S.r.l. - in the conclusion of the agreement that has created Italy's largest pole of branded cured meats, ready meals and cooked hams.

The transaction provides for the contribution of the entire shareholding in Salumifici GranTerre S.p.A. to Parmacotto S.p.A.: the new excellence of made in Italy will have revenues in excess of €1.1 billion, 2,500 employees and 20 plants (14 Salumifici GranTerre and 6 Parmacotto). The business plan is to exceed €1.5 bln in sales within five years, and expansion is planned in markets where the two companies are already present (US and major EU markets) as well as the opening of new ones.

Intesa Sanpaolo follows both companies through the Agribusiness division of the Banca dei Territori Division; the transaction was finalised through the Corporate Finance Mid Cap structure of the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division.
