Intesa Sanpaolo and ITI MARINA Hotels & Resorts have signed a supply chain agreement to support the tourism industry in Sardinia.

More specifically, the initiative aims to:

  • promote sustainability and the use of local products in the tourism sector
  • offer new growth opportunities to Sardinian food and craft enterprises.

Through the Sviluppo Filiere Programme, in fact, Intesa Sanpaolo supports Italian excellence, offering participating companies advantageous credit terms, access to dedicated services and training.

The ITI MARINA Hotels & Resorts Group will contribute its know-how to support a collaborative network that offers around 15,000 beds in its facilities alone and employs up to 2,000 local seasonal workers annually.

Intesa Sanpaolo has already activated some 900 supply chain contracts throughout Italy, involving more than 115,000 employees and approximately 21,000 suppliers, for a total turnover exceeding €100 billion. In Sardinia, the programme already involves 18 supply chains in different production sectors generating turnover of €1 billion and involving more than 500 small local companies.

According to data compiled by Intesa Sanpaolo's Research Department, tourism accounts for a large part of the regional economy in Sardinia: it numbers around 13,700 enterprises (9.5% of the total), with more than 16.5 million presences recorded in 2023.
