Intesa Sanpaolo donation to four organisations for sick and disabled children
"Our poverty reduction programme, with €1.5 billion earmarked by 2027, is one of the most relevant in Italy. With this new initiative, we intend to bring concrete help to children facing serious difficulties, offering relief to their families during this festive period. The Bank has always stood close to people with disabilities and illnesses, supporting dedicated projects, both for our employees and for the community by helping associations working in this field." Carlo Messina, CEO Intesa Sanpaolo.
On this basis, the Bank has decided to donate the equivalent of the Christmas gifts to four Third Sector organisations involved in assisting sick and disabled children and their families. The initiative is part of Intesa Sanpaolo's programme to tackle social inequalities, with a total commitment of €1.5 billion by 2027.
The beneficiaries of the initiative are four organisations that already partner Intesa Sanpaolo:
- VIDAS – “Casa Sollievo” Children’s Hospice, Milan
- GASLINI FOUNDATION - Health commuting for families of non-Genoese children, Genoa
- DYNAMO CAMP - Care for children and teenagers with chronic and serious illnesses, Limestre (Pistoia)
- CENTRO SPORTIVO ITALIANO (CSI) - Sport and disability in childhood, throughout Italy
The initiative is part of Intesa Sanpaolo's 2022-2025 Business Plan, which reinforces the Bank's social commitment. The programme envisages collaboration between charities, enterprises and institutions, with the aim of identifying and responding to the needs of the most vulnerable people, through multi-annual actions, interventions spread throughout the territory and the participation of different social players.
