Intesa Sanpaolo took part in the pool of Italian and international banks that signed a €600 million Sustainability Linked loan agreement for Italgas, Italy's leading gas distribution operator and the third largest in Europe.

It is a Revolving Credit Facility with a 5-year maturity, which will enable Italgas to develop innovative and sustainable projects, including for the development of renewable energy.

The transaction is linked to the achievement of certain ESG objectives, including:

  • the reduction of Scope 1 and 2 emissions
  • strengthening the number of women in positions of responsibility.

BNL, BNP Paribas, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Mediobanca, Société Générale and Unicredit also participated in the transaction.
