World's Most Socially Responsible Bank ranking - Newsweek and Statista
Intesa Sanpaolo obtains a new further important award: it is the first major banking group in the Euro Zone and in 12th place among the 175 most socially responsible banks according to the "World's Most Socially Responsible Banks 2022". The ranking is drawn up by the prestigious USA Newsweek and by Statista, one of the leading economic research companiews in the world.
The analysis, conducted between November 2021 and January 2022, is based on two parameters: public data from 750 banks in 35 countries on the 30 KPIs of the three ESG pillars, including those specific to the banking sector, and the sustainability reputation based on of a large survey of 45,000 customers.
Through the 2022-2025 Business Plan, Intesa Sanpaolo intends to further strengthen its role as a leading bank in ESG. It envisages doing this by committing funds in 2022-2025 for around €115 billion to society and the green transition and around €500 million in support of people in need, as well as working towards achieving a net-zero emission target, in terms of own emissions by 2030 and in terms of loan and investment portfolios, asset management and insurance by 2050.
