Intesa Sanpaolo confirmed among the 100 most sustainable companies in the world
Intesa Sanpaolo is the first bank in Europe, second in the world and only in Italy, among the 100 most sustainable listed companies in the world in the Corporate Knights Global 100, ranking 59th out of over 6,000 companies analyzed on the basis of 25 KPI ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) such as environmental sustainability, attention to human resources, gender equality, revenues from ESG products, services and investments.
The award, presented today at the World Economic Forum in Davos, confirms Intesa Sanpaolo's commitment reinforced with the 2022-2025 Business Plan which envisages allocating 115 billion euro to society and the green transition and around €500 million in support of people in need, as well as working towards achieving a net-zero emission target, in terms of own emissions by 2030 and in terms of loan and investment portfolios, asset management and insurance by 2050, and, in addition, protecting and restoring natural capital with more than 100 million trees planted over the four-year Plan horizon, directly as a Group or with dedicated financing for its clients, and the adoption of a specific policy on biodiversity.
This award comes after Intesa Sanpaolo inclusion, at the end of 2022, as the only Italian bank, in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (World and Europe), one of the main international sustainability indices, and the inclusion in CDP Climate Change "A List".
