ESG Securitisation Awards 2023: Innovation of the Year

Intesa Sanpaolo was recognized as the best bank in Europe in the "Innovation of the Year" category at the ESG Securitisation Awards, by the online international financial information magazine Structured Credit Investor.

The awarded banks were chosen taking into account the development of new ESG segments, the capacity for innovation in terms of transaction structuring, the volume of transactions carried out and the active credit risk management model.

Intesa Sanpaolo has stood out for its proprietary ESG rating model, developed within the Financial Market Coverage Head Office Department and integrated into important decision-making processes, which provides a qualitative-quantitative assessment of the ESG profile of client companies with the aim to encourage new disbursements to customers with a high ESG score, in line with the internal model, and to broaden the base of investors more sensitive to financial sustainability issues, increasingly involved in synthetic securitisation transactions finalized by the Group on the capital market.

Intesa Sanpaolo is among the most active banks in Europe for the dynamic management of credit risk, through targeted strategies and credit risk transfer operations for the optimization of the risk-return profile of the portfolio at Group level.

The award is an important recognition of the commitments and results obtained by the Intesa Sanpaolo Group in the ESG area, and it confirms the high level achieved in the active management of credit risk in line with the initiatives of the 2022-2025 Business Plan.
