The 2023 Green and Social Bond Report has been published
Intesa Sanpaolo has published the 2023 annual report on the allocation of proceeds and the impacts (environmental and social) of the Green and Social Bonds issued between 2019 and 2023.
The report was drawn up in line with section 5 (Reporting) of the Intesa Sanpaolo Green, Social & Sustainability Bond Framework published in June 2022.
The overall outstanding value of Green Bonds as of 31 December 2023 is 8.7 billion euro.
The report shows that 65% of the Green portfolio refers to the "Green Buildings" category, 18% to "Renewable Energy", 16% to the "Circular Economy" and 1% to "Energy Efficiency".
The environmental impact of the Green Portfolio is estimated at 6,477,600 tonnes of CO2 emissions avoided.
The overall outstanding amount of Social Bonds as of 31 December 2023 is 1.6 billion euro.
The report shows that 81% of the Social Portfolio concerns "Financing for job creation and programs aimed at preventing or reducing unemployment resulting from business crises", 12% refers to the category "Access to essential services" and 7% refers to the categories relating to "Socio-economic progress and emancipation".
Among the main impacts generated by the Social portfolio are: over 8.5 million beneficiaries reached, 97,000 jobs created and 150,000 jobs preserved.
