Report assessing the impact of financing for non-profit organisations
Intesa Sanpaolo is strongly committed to social inclusion, a crucial factor in the prospect of a fair and inclusive transition, as also defined in the 2022-2025 Business Plan.
The Report assessing the impact of financing for non-profit organizations drawn up in collaboration with PwC Italia illustrates the results of the social and environmental impact of 662 initiatives promoted by non-profit organizations and financed with 189 million euro by Intesa's Impact Department Sanpaolo during 2023.
From the impact assessment it emerged that the credit granted by the bank to non-profit organizations generates significant effects on society and for the common good.
In particular:
- 1.2 million potential beneficiaries per year, considering all initiatives at full capacity;
- 25,800 jobs (created or preserved) related to the funded initiatives (of which 18,800 in the funded organizations and 7,000 as a direct effect on the communities of reference);
- 4 macro-sectors most benefited: social assistance and civil protection (50 million euros), education and training (37 million euros), healthcare and healthcare (35 million euros);
- Intesa Sanpaolo's credit is considered fundamental by customers: for 59% of the initiatives there would have been no alternatives to financing from the Bank.
The evaluation model developed by Intesa Sanpaolo, which uses internationally recognized proprietary methodologies, constitutes a further step towards positioning the Group at the top of the world for social impact and as a European leader in sustainable finance.
