The fifth edition of the Master in Climate Change kicks off on 21 October.
Adaptation and mitigation solutions, proposed by the Department of Environmental, Land and Infrastructure Engineering of the Politecnico di Torino and created in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, the company of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group dedicated to the frontier innovation.
The master's course is designed for graduates and professionals who wish to acquire specialized skills on a key issue of contemporary society, such as climate change, with its causes, effects and related intervention strategies.
The Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center - Politecnico di Torino collaboration is a further virtuous opportunity for a connection between academia and companies, in line with the Innovation Center's objective of spreading the culture of innovation, which facilitates the transition from pure research to technology transfer and, in some cases, to the creation of start-ups.
In fact, Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center develops applied research laboratories that explore new trends with the aim of imagining and designing innovative solutions that enable the Group and its customers to consciously face the challenges of growth and sustainability. A great expertise that can also help talented young students to become protagonists of the changes in our society.
Second-level university master's degree “Climate Change: adaptation and mitigation solutions”
Why should you enroll?
The issues of sustainability and climate change are at the centre of the international debate and involve all global players in the political, social, economic and scientific spheres interested in developing virtuous processes to address today's major challenges. The complexity of the topic and its impact on the global socio-economic context require practitioners to have a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics behind global warming and associated climate change as a key starting point for being able to anticipate the risks and foresee effective solutions.
Knowing how to understand and how mitigate the damage of this phenomenon and define intervention strategies has become a priority, since the effects of what is happening have direct consequences on our lives.
Within this general framework, the topics addressed in the Master's course constitute the complete corpus of a training of excellence that will in fact be increasingly central to the labour market.
Who is it targeted: training professionals specialized in climate change
The Master's course is designed to train professionals suitable for executive roles specializing in climate change in companies, organisations and research institutes dealing with innovation with systemic skills and visions tailored for managing ongoing structural challenges.
The didactic structure of the online and face-to-face Master's programme
The Master's programme stands out for its innovative, practical and interdisciplinary educational offerings that foster the exchange of skills and knowledge among faculty, partner companies and students. Through the lectures, seminars and workshops scheduled over the 12 months, students will have the opportunity to explore the context, dynamics and impacts related to energy transition, economic sustainability, technological innovation, as well as the resilient actions taken so far by major companies worldwide.
In this way, students will gain a comprehensive understanding that will enable them to imagine strategies and design innovative solutions to be applied and rule the above phenomena.
In addition, laboratory activities and a curricular internship of approximately 500 hours will allow participants to experiment and consolidate the theoretical knowledge they have learned in the field.
Classes can be attended in person or online and it is possible to participate in individual courses.
