Training with ELIS in Digital Engineering at PoliMi
Intesa Sanpaolo participated in the Digital Engineering 2023 program designed by ELIS - educational non-profit - to give young students the opportunity to approach the world of work by exploring and experimenting with concrete projects.
Under the ELIS programme - Digital engineering, Intesa Sanpaolo has accompanied 6 students enrolled in the Computer Engineering course at the Politecnico di Milano in the development of the project work on a study on PET, Privacy Enhancing Technology.
The digital transition at Intesa Sanpaolo
In the Intesa Sanpaolo Group there is the conviction that technological innovation and digital have a transversal impact and are able to streamline processes and create ecosystems that enable environmental sustainability.
In fact, in the Bank, Digital Trasformation concerns the entire banking business and invests above all in the relationship between the company and the customer.
In particular - starting from listening to the customer - marketing and all specialist structures work to equip themselves with tools and practices that are secure, resilient and attractive to all customer groups.
By developing and adopting new digital technologies, Intesa Sanpaolo is pursuing a strong integration of processes and data with a view to providing customers with a global vision that is increasingly secure, efficient and close to their concrete needs.
These objectives can only be achieved by keeping people - current and future managers and employees - at the centre. Therefore, it is necessary to invest in the development of new skills and in the training of young people in order to prepare them to be key players in the continuous technological evolution.
Digital Strategy & Intelligence: Intesa Sanpaolo's expertise in the field
In order to train people and make them capable of imagining, designing and managing digital transition processes, partnerships are needed between universities, associations and research organisations, companies and start-ups.
The ELIS - Intesa Sanpaolo relationship - coordinated by the University and School Relations structure - is very well-established and is developed through various initiatives realised by making use of and enhancing the professional skills of colleagues from the various Group structures.
In this specific case, the collaboration was realised thanks to the support of colleagues from Digital Strategy & Intelligence engaged in the research of Digital Compliance solutions aimed at supporting the Group's digital transformation, who made available the company's expertise acquired in the field in the areas of Privacy, Artificial Intelligence and Smart Technologies.
The ELIS programme: Digital Engineering in degree courses at the Politecnico di Milano
ELIS – Ingegneria digitale, is a three-year course that complements the degree course in Computer Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano. In particular, the course - in addition to additional teaching - requires students at the end of each year to develop a project work supported by a partner company. The skills transmitted by the Course enable students to continue on to a Master's Degree or even to enter highly sought-after professions, such as Cybersecurity Analyst, Mobile, Front & Back-End developer, Cloud Engineer.
The project with ELIS: Developing Frameworks for Secure Information Sharing
It was born from the need to imagine and design an innovative framework based on Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PET) for secure information sharing.
The framework constitutes the first step of a broad project that aims to use data for the development of AI models in compliance with privacy and data security requirements and with the goal of improving compliance safeguards.During the term of the project work, the students - supported and guided by their colleagues - first explored the context of use of the framework, focusing in particular on privacy regulations and the state-of-the-art of PETs already used in various sectors. Subsequently, they selected the most suitable and advanced technologies and defined the framework's special features.
The last phase of the project work was dedicated to the development of an operational demo and the preparation of a presentation document of the work carried out at the ELIS Innovation Day, the celebratory event held last Sept. 26.
Young people and Data Protection training: growing the innovators of tomorrow
The future of digital transformation depends on partnerships with young people and the tangible value of their creativity and innovation.
The framework study represents a solid starting point for future technological and design developments that will improve the ability to manage and protect customers' banking information.
This is a further addition to the joint commitment of Intesa Sanpaolo and ELIS aimed at promoting a culture of innovation and sustainability among young people.
