Coronavirus: supporting those on the front line
Intesa Sanpaolo is supporting a new initiative to help nursing and healthcare personnel who work on the front lines in managing the Coronavirus emergency.
The project aims to balance the need to share knowledge while maintaining physical distance due to the Coronavirus emergency:
We would be doing the virus a big favor by gathering in a classroom for training. So let’s use the internet and share everything we know so far. Having well-trained healthcare personnel is essential for both patients and operators' safety.
Roberto Burioni, professor of Microbiology and Virology of the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University
The free course "COVID-19: a practical guide for healthcare professionals" is held by professionals from the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and is meant for nursing staff who have had no direct or continuous experience in intensive care units.
Sharing knowledge is an essential task to which we are called as teachers, a sharing that becomes even more crucial when the safety of health workers and all citizens is at stake.
Enrico Gherlone, Rector of the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University
The lessons are available on the website of the FNOPI (National Federation of Nursing Professionals) who are the project’s partners for delivering the course and for accreditation.
The lessons relate to:
- individual PPE protection
- non-invasive ventilation
- stress management in emergency situations.
At the end of the eight hours of lessons, participants who pass the assessment tests will receive credits for Continuing Medical Education (ECM - 10.4) valid throughout Italy.
This initiative is promoted by Generation Italy for the online training method; from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and San Donato Group as scientific partners; by Intesa Sanpaolo for the production and promotion of the course; and from Sky Italia for video production.
This initiative joins other measures implemented by Intesa Sanpaolo for Italy during the COVID-19 epidemic.
