Gallerie d’Italia - Vicenza: home of art and culture
Gallerie d’Italia – Vicenza are housed in Palazzo Leoni Montanari, a sumptuous residence from the end of the seventeenth century in the heart of the city, which was the home of different noble families until 1800 and is now part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s historical-artistic heritage.
Thanks to loans and exchanges with leading national and international museum institutions, the Gallerie d’Italia – Vicenza houses temporary exhibitions curated in accordance with original scientific projects, as well as permanent exhibitions like the new immersive setting dedicated to the collection of Russian icons – considered one of the most important in the West – and a collection of eighteenth century artworks from Veneto, with paintings by Canaletto, Guardi, Longhi and Carlevarijs.
The Gallerie in Palazzo Leoni Montanari, the first site of the Gallerie d'Italia, are a point of cultural reference for the territory with a rich agenda of events, also in collaboration with prestigious local, national and international institutions. A special focus is placed on the musical culture, often closely linked, in terms of subject or period, to the works exhibited.
“llustrissimo Javier Jaén”
With Javier Jaén's solo exhibition entitled “Illustrissimo Javier Jaén”, the Gallerie d'Italia - Vicenza confirms its identity as a a place devoted to the finest contemporary illustration. The exhibition is organised as part of the sixth edition of “Illustri Festival”, an event held every two years that makes Vicenza the first Italian city of this art form.
