Extel ranks Carlo Messina as Europe’s best bank CEO, Intesa Sanpaolo leads in IR
Carlo Messina is European banking’s Best CEO, according to the 2024 ranking by Extel (formerly Institutional Investor Research). The same survey ranks Intesa Sanpaolo as the European leader in Investor Relations across all industries.
Extel’s 2024 survey of 1,800 institutional investors and analysts underlines the financial community’s continued appreciation for Intesa Sanpaolo:
- Carlo Messina voted Best CEO in the European banking sector for the seventh year
- Intesa Sanpaolo’s Board of Directors is the sector's Best Company Board for the third time, maintaining the top spot every year since the category was introduced
- Stefano Del Punta (now Senior Advisor to the CEO since April 2024) is Best CFO in European banking for the eighth year
- Marco Delfrate is Best IR Professional for the seventh year
- The Investor Relations Team is voted #1 among all European banks for the seventh year
- The IR team also won the top spots for Best ESG Program (fifth year) and Best Investor Relations Program (eighth year) among banks
- Based on these survey results, Extel awarded Intesa Sanpaolo the Grand Prix for Best Corporate in Investor Relations Large-Cap, Europe.
The annual rankings by Extel (formerly Institutional Investor Research) – an independent research provider for over 50 years – are based on a broad survey conducted among around 1,800 institutional investors and financial analysts.
