Intesa Sanpaolo, through its IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, acted as co-advisor to the Enel Group for the partnership agreement signed with Masdar for the management of photovoltaic plants in Spain.

Under the agreement, Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company) is to acquire a minority stake in EGPE Solar, an SPV that owns Endesa's (Enel's subsidiary and one of the leading electricity companies in Spain and Portugal) existing portfolio of photovoltaic plants already in operation, for a consideration of €817 million.

The deal will allow Enel to retain control of EGPE Solar, maximising productivity and return on investment.

With this transaction, Intesa Sanpaolo, led by CEO Carlo Messina, is putting its experience in extraordinary corporate finance transactions, and its extensive knowledge of financial markets and industrial realities in the international arena, at the service of companies.
