Intesa Sanpaolo’s Wealth Management Divisions: the success of an integrated hub
29 September 2025
Intesa Sanpaolo’s Wealth Management Divisions are a key growth engine for the Group, with wealth management activities (including in the Banca dei Territori retail division) contributing 42% to Intesa Sanpaolo’s gross operating income. Demographic, social, and economic trends — together with the the importance of private savings to the Italian economy — make wealth management even more strategic.
To accelerate growth and provide unified oversight of the wealth management businesses, Intesa Sanpaolo created the Wealth Management Divisions hub, which brings together the Group’s product factories and the networks of financial advisors and private bankers: as of 30 June 2025, this hub managed €909 bn in assets, making the Group the market leader in Italy and a top player in Europe.
In the first half of 2025, the Divisions as a whole posted net operating income of €3.1 billion and a net income of €1.6 billion, with industry-leading profitability.
Key strengths of Intesa Sanpaolo’s Wealth Management & Protection business model include:
- fully-owned product factories
- distinctive advisory networks
- cutting-edge digital tools
“Today, Intesa Sanpaolo’s Asset Management, Insurance and Private Banking Divisions are ideally positioned to address new market trends. The expansion of advisory services to include Protection and Pension solutions, combined with production and distribution synergies and the Group’s bancassurance model — unique in Italy — delivers added value for clients, supported by digital infrastructures.”
Tommaso Corcos, Head of Intesa Sanpaolo Wealth Management Divisions
The Wealth Management Hub, overseeing the Group’s Wealth Management activities, aims to accelerate growth and strengthen Intesa Sanpaolo’s positioning in response to emerging market trends, such as:
- longer life expectancy and an aging population
- growing digital engagement among younger generations
- growing wealth inequality
- increasing use of technology in financial advisory services.
