The solidarity project "Golden Links: relationships are gold", implemented in cooperation with Caritas Italiana to promote the distribution of basic necessities to families and people in poverty, is now in its fifth year.

In cooperation with local Caritas chapters, goods donated by large Italian companies are collected, sorted and packaged by people in need, particularly women and inmates, and then distributed throughout Italy via 92 Caritas Solidarity Emporiums and 25 penitentiary institutions.

Over 265,000 items of clothing, books and other goods have been distributed since the project's launch in 2018: clothing, underwear, footwear, but also books, dictionaries, sanitation products and, starting this year, toys for children.

The goods, recovered from industrial production surpluses, were donated by major Italian companies that are clients of Intesa Sanpaolo such as Calzedonia, Camomilla Italia, Geox, BasicNet Group, Mondadori Education, OVS and Solvay Chimica Italia. Intesa Sanpaolo Smart Care also participated.

The Golden Links project, created in 2018, represents a model of inclusive, circular innovation and is an important part of the anti-poverty programme of the 2022-2025 Business Plan, which includes 50 million interventions involving the distribution of meals, sleeping accommodations, medicines and clothing for people in fragile situations.
