SMEs and cross-border business: Intesa Sanpaolo offers new opportunities
Intesa Sanpaolo is strengthening its tools in support of the internationalisation of Italian SMEs through a new project that enhances the synergies between the International Subsidiary Banks Division (ISBD) and Banca dei Territori Division (BDT).
Through the specialised consultancy made available in Italy and the network of local market-leading banks, the project aims to enhance the cross-border business opportunities of mid-corporates operating in the 12 countries served by the Group's retail banks in Eastern Europe and North Africa by making available:
- increase credit lines and range of products and services dedicated to internationalisation
- onboarding teams for Italian companies at the Group's foreign banks
The project will first cover the markets of Slovakia, Romania and Hungary, and then extend to other countries within the ISBD perimeter, where more than 2,000 Italian industrial groups are present with their own subsidiaries.
Intesa Sanpaolo Bank in Romania, CIB Bank in Hungary and VUB Banka in Slovakia will thus be involved initially, along with Intesa Sanpaolo's regional departments, as well as the Agribusiness Department.
The Roadshow
To present companies the opportunities offered by the Romanian, Hungarian and Slovakian markets, Intesa Sanpaolo is organising a roadshow in Venice (3 May), Bergamo (4 May) and Milan (5 May), along with a national webinar dedicated to companies in the agribusiness sector (18 May), and in Turin (9 October), Bologna (10 October), Padua (11 October) and Brescia (12 October).
Among the potential of the geographical areas covered by the new programme:
- positive growth forecasts
- progressive increase in the ability to attract foreign investment
- benefits from re-shoring and near-shoring
- allocation of European funds
- government privatisation programmes
- prospects for the modernisation of infrastructure and transport networks
- development of the industrial fabric
- availability of natural and agricultural resources
Through wholly owned subsidiaries, Intesa Sanpaolo operates in 12 countries characterised by strategic positioning in the enlarged Mediterranean area – increasingly important in the regional reshaping of globalisation dynamics.
