Three solar plants financed in Croatia through Solis project
Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s subsidiary bank in Croatia, Privredna Banka Zagreb (PBZ), participated in financing the “Solis” project for the construction of three solar power plants with a total capacity of 30 MW.
The €35 million investment is financed by a €21.2 million syndicated loan, arranged by EBRD and PBZ: with a 50% ticket in the loan, PBZ is the only commercial bank involved in the transaction and acts also as Agent, Security Agent and Account Bank.
The project supports the European strategy for green energy transition while enhancing the Croatian renewable energy sector and its overall energy independence, in line with the strategic ESG commitment of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group.
Furthermore, two out of three solar power plants are located on the island of Brač, thus supporting the energy transition plan developed under the European Commission’s clean energy for EU islands’ initiative for greater energy resilience at the islands.
