INTESA SANPAOLO: OPENING OF A NEW BRANCH IN ISTANBUL

THE UNIQUE OF THE ITALIAN BANKING SECTOR FULLY DEDICATED TO CORPORATE CLIENTS

 

Milan, 04 June 2014 Intesa Sanpaolo has launched the activities of the new Branch in Istanbul, a further step which confirms the Group's commitment in supporting the enterprises wishing to develop their presence in the Turkish market and to sustain the foreign trade and finance activities between Turkey and Italy.

Intesa Sanpaolo has been present in Turkey through its Istanbul Representative Office and with the opening of the new Branch it is today the only Italian banking Group with an own and directly operational Corporate Branch in Turkey.

The new Istanbul Branch is part of the international network of the Corporate and Investment Banking Division and operates in close synergy with the international network and the Italian facilities of the Group, with the goal of providing Turkish, Italian and foreign customers with the solutions best suited to their needs. After receiving the necessary permissions from the Turkish Institutions for the opening of a Branch in Istanbul, the new headquarter will have a significant role in the region and act as a ‘full branch’ offering personalized and full assistance to enterprises.

Through dedicated working-teams, the Branch will be able to provide a wide range of products: Corporate Banking, services for export credit, local and international payments, treasury products. The goal is to provide tailor made solutions for the short and medium term needs of the customers. In addition, the Branch will work in close collaboration with Banca IMI - the investment bank of the Group - for structured finance products, Project and Acquisition Financing, M&A Advisory, Capital Markets, cross-border transactions and Financial Risk Management.

Intesa Sanpaolo continues with its development projects and the strengthening of its International Corporate and Investment Banking Division. The opening of the Branch in Istanbul is the result of the Group’s selective growth in countries with high development potential such as Turkey, which is an important end-market and is one of the leading trading partners for Italy.
