Intesa Sanpaolo admitted to the Cooperative Compliance scheme with the italian Revenue Agency
Turin, Milan 18 December 2018 – In the last few days, Intesa Sanpaolo was admitted by the Revenue Agency to the Cooperative Compliance scheme under legislative decree no. 128/2015.
The admission to the scheme – that started in 2017, the year the application was submitted - was preceded by an assessment performed by the Revenue Agency examining the full adequacy of the Tax Control Framework adopted by Intesa Sanpaolo for the detection, measurement, management and control of the tax risk, i.e. the risk of operating in breach of the tax laws or in conflict with the principles and purposes of the tax system.
As part of this scheme, Intesa Sanpaolo and the Revenue Agency will be able to perform joint assessments on situations that are likely to generate tax risks, through maintaining ongoing and preventive contact, aiming to resolve potential disputes in advance.
“Receiving admission to the Cooperative Compliance scheme by the Revenue Agency - declared Carlo Messina, Managing Director of Intesa Sanpaolo - shows how the transparency of our business and the adoption of specific internal organisational models, aiming to prevent any risk of breaching the regulations, constitute for Intesa Sanpaolo fundamental values in its approach to banking”.
