Intesa Sanpaolo included in the CDP Climate "A List" 2024
Intesa Sanpaolo announces it has been included in the CDP Climate “A List”. CDP is a non-profit organization that provides a global system for measuring and disclosing information on environmental impact. The Climate “A List” includes companies that have distinguished themselves for transparency and results in combating climate change. In 2024, approximately 25,000 companies representing 80% of European capitalization and 66% of global capitalization participated in CDP's assessment. The annual assessment process carried out by CDP is widely recognized by the market as the gold standard for environmental issues.
The analysis is based on data and information provided by companies, evaluated on a scale from A (best) to D-.
This result follows up to Intesa Sanpaolo’s recent validation – only Bank in Italy - of its decarbonization targets by SBTi. SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) is the result of a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and bases its assessments on an independent scientific methodology.
These achievements add to the recent confirmation of the inclusion of Intesa Sanpaolo - the only Italian bank - in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index and Dow Jones Best-in-Class Europe Index1, which comprise global sustainability leaders evaluated on the basis of long-term governance, environmental and social criteria.
