Our COVID-19 initiatives
Responding to the health emergency, helping families, supporting businesses and defending Italy’s industrial ecosystem: these are our commitments to society and the real economy hit by the COVID-19 crisis. For the future to come, Intesa Sanpaolo provides the strength of the Bank to accelerate the restart of the economy and businesses, since the strength of our balance sheet enables us to make a concrete contribution to the economy and society. In concrete terms, we will continue with our actions aimed at reducing the socio-economic hardship caused by the pandemic by allocating €150 million from our Fund for Impact (equal to 50% of the fund) to new projects and initiatives.
How we are helping Italy face the COVID-19 crisis
Intesa Sanpaolo was quick to respond to the emerging Coronavirus pandemic. We were Italy’s first bank to suspend mortgage and loan installments for families and companies. We donated over €100 million to help fight the COVID-19 emergency. We made €50 billion in new credit available to businesses to provide liquidity and protect jobs, and we dedicated €125 million from our Fund for Impact to offset socio-economic distress caused by the pandemic.
Here are all of Intesa Sanpaolo’s COVID-19 initiatives – large and small – to care for our people and customers, supporting society and the real economy, and ensuring business continuity.
