Decent work and economic growth
Employment protection
People have always been and continue to be the most valuable asset for Intesa Sanpaolo, acting as an enabling factor for its future success.
The centrality of the person, also established in the 2022-2025 Business Plan, involves full protection of workers' rights, with particular attention to the development of industrial relations and the protection of employment.
For Intesa Sanpaolo, which has always been committed to supporting the growth of the real economy in Italy, the protection of employment is a priority issue to guarantee economic solidity in the medium-long term and one of the characterizing elements of the 2022-2025 Business Plan.
The programs adopted, also thanks to the numerous agreements signed with the trade unions, aim to avoid potential negative impacts on the professional and personal dignity of the Group's people.
UN SDG SUPPORTED
The protection of the Group’s people rights is governed by the general principles of the Code of Ethics, the Principles on Human Rights, the Principles on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and the collective bargaining system, which fully operates on two distinct and complementary levels, the first at the national level and the second at the Group level. Through agreements with Trade Unions, the Group has introduced programmes to safeguard employment levels, balancing voluntary exits with new hiring plans and facilitating professional retraining to align with Business Plan priorities.
