INTESA SANPAOLO: CARLO MESSINA SUCCEEDS ENRICO TOMMASO CUCCHIANI
AS MANAGING DIRECTOR AND CEO

Turin - Milan, September 29^th 2013 – Intesa Sanpaolo announces that Enrico Tommaso Cucchiani has stepped down as Managing Director and CEO with immediate effect.

Intesa Sanpaolo has expressed full appreciation of Mr Cucchiani’s achievements, of his professional accomplishments and international standing put at the service of the Group. Enrico Tommaso Cucchiani, in turn, has declared his attachment to the Group, as well as his high regard for its Chairmen, its board members and its management. Intesa Sanpaolo would be pleased to have Enrico Tommaso Cucchiani as a Group collaborator in the future.

As unanimously proposed by the Nomination Committee, the Supervisory Board, at a meeting held today with all its members in attendance, has unanimously indicated to the Management Board Carlo Messina as Managing Director and CEO.

The Supervisory Board has appointed Francesco Micheli to the Management Board, thus restoring the latter Board to its full complement, and indicated the newly-appointed member to the Management Board as executive member chosen from the Group’s managers.

At a meeting today, the Management Board, with all its members in attendance, has unanimously appointed Carlo Messina Managing Director and CEO.
