AS MANAGING DIRECTOR AND CEO
Turin - Milan, September 30th 2013 – Intesa Sanpaolo clarifies that Enrico Tommaso Cucchiani stepped down as Managing Director and CEO yesterday - after having achieved the expected results in a phase of prolonged systemic crisis - due to the Bank’s need, in the current and future economic environment, for enhancing the business performance as well as finetuning consistent strategic and management actions in order to accelerate the actual realisation of the Group’s potential. Intesa Sanpaolo has deemed that, in accordance with that need, Carlo Messina, formerly General Manager Deputy to the CEO, has the ideal professional profile to take over as Managing Director and CEO.
