INTESA SANPAOLO: FITCH RATINGS UPGRADES THE BANK’S RATINGS
Turin - Milan, 25 September 2025 – Intesa Sanpaolo communicates that today Fitch Ratings has upgraded the Bank’s long-term senior preferred (unsecured) rating to ‘A-’ from ‘BBB’, its short-term deposits rating to ‘F1’ from ‘F2’, and its Viability Rating to ‘a-’ from ‘bbb’. The outlook is stable.
Following the action on Italy announced by Fitch Ratings on 19 September 2025, Intesa Sanpaolo’s long-term rating is now one notch above Italy’s sovereign rating.
According to the agency, the two-notch upgrade reflects the combination of the recent upgrade to 'BBB+' from 'BBB' of Italy’s Long-Term Rating and Intesa Sanpaolo exceptional position of strength relative to its domestic peers, which is supported by well diversified products and revenues, and flight-to-quality status.
