€37 million loan to Grimaldi for the purchase of the Eco Livorno ship

Intesa Sanpaolo has concluded a loan of approximately € 37 million in favor of the Grimaldi Group for the purchase of the Eco Livorno ship which will be able to halve CO2 emissions at sea and to zero its emissions in port, using electricity stored during the trip.

The Eco Livorno is the third of twelve hybrid ships of the innovative Grimaldi Green 5th Generation (GG5G) class which are not only the largest ro-ro units in the world for short-sea shipping, but also the most eco-friendly.

The operation confirms the support of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group in supporting the transformation of the country's industrial system and in particular of the infrastructure sector, according to the principles of environmental sustainability (ESG).
