Intesa Sanpaolo supports Italian cinema and audiovisual industry with €5 bln
Intesa Sanpaolo is providing €5 billion in support of the Italian cinema and audiovisual production industry, an important economic resource for the country with a multiplier effect on the related tourism, design and fashion industry supply chains.
The €5 billion comes in addition to the over €2.4 billion in loans already dedicated to the sector since 2009: with more than €7 billion in total financing available, Intesa Sanpaolo continues its key role for the Italian film industry, which promotes the country's image and culture abroad and showcases its products.
The film and audiovisual sector is made up of over 15,000 companies and provides nearly 200,000 direct and indirect jobs, particularly for young and female workers, while also showing a significant propensity for exports*.
The film industry also helps shape the perception of Italy in the world, with its cultural, tourism and industrial offerings, and draw visitors and companies, with a knock-on effect on local communities and economies.
The project is part of the €410 billion in support made available by the Group to help achieve the objectives of the NRRP by 2026.
